Angel of growth used to be the only boy angel under our themed-angels series, it is not because I favor girl more, but because I was swamped with year end orders by the time the fourth angel rolled out to the shop! It was in plan to compensate for the imbalance of the gender on the following year, which unexpectedly, I spent some time in the hospital and recuperating at home. Of course, by the time, I was well enough, I was once again buried in piles of orders and work.

Nope, not complaining, just saying, you know.

This batch of order came very late, while I still had other orders in process, I would normally decline the order. However, in the spirit of joy that this festive season brings, I accepted the order, and am glad I did. It’s a lot of work with these angels, especially when it involved some trial and error, and time was not exactly plentiful, but when I placed them together, the sense of accomplishment is priceless!

Angel of balance is originally designed as a girl angel, standing on a balancing wood rod.

For the boy angel of balance, I have him carries 2 bags containing different substances, yet he is able to strike a balance all the time.

this xmas, I am sinking my teeth into these yummies…

if they survive till Christmas, that is..

I was expecting a Christmas gift from Cyndi, since she revealed this to me some days ago. She was worried that the postman may damage the box (and now I know why). I did a little guessing that she might have gotten me a nice decorative box, perhaps?

Or a toy box that would pop up a cute cat? She told me that she wanted to cheer me up when I told her she really shouldn’t have got me anything.

When I received this today, there were ramblings of ’stuffs’, I thought it must be some cute toys, Cyndi is great with cute stuffs!

When I tore the brown paper, and bubble wraps apart (yeah, I was really excited, like a child), I saw the word ‘Meiji’, and I went, ‘Oh my god!!!!’.

Meiji is one of my favorite brands for sweets and food stuffs (including yogurt!)!!!!! When I opened up the box, the ‘candy beast’ in me leaped out of me!!!! I’d probably salivated!!!!

As soon as the photos were taken, I rampaged through the many yummies, and got a little stressed up with deciding which one to start the ‘kill’. ‘Pucca’ is the first to go.

This is Puuurrrrrfect!!!!!!!!

Thank you so very much, Cyndi!!!!!! Now I really feel bad about not having anything to gift.

ho ho ho!!! santa is here!

I received this cutie little santa cell charm a while ago, but I was (still is) too busy to take photos of it.

He came as a pleasant surprise in the mailbox from Shirley, of Beading Fantasy! Shirley and I have not met in person, but we have ‘known’ each other from crafting, and it must have been 2 years since we last ‘met’ online.

I could only imagine how much time and effort has been put into making this pretty Santa. The photo does not do justice to the actual item, it must have required superb workmanship and patience to finish this.

Thank you very much, Shirley!! I truly appreciate it. The pleasure is all mine to be acquainted with you.

happy christmas, and a wonderful new year!

Christmas was my favorite festive season when I was a small child, even though the Lunar New Year usually fetched more money (as in real money, it’s a Chinese custom for married people to hand out red packets containing real cash to children, parents, and/or unmarried people). What did we know about money back then? It’s more exciting to receive gifts.

The truth is that most of us loves pleasant surprises, even if we deny it, just so that we may present ourselves as ‘cool’ and different. The suspense of guessing what ‘treasure’ is wrapped under the nice wrappers, and placed under the Christmas tree, is a thrill!

We used to rush to the big (not that big really, but everything looked so huge when we were small, eh?) tree, and looked for our names on the wrappers or gift tags. Our hearts sat with the gifts throughout the day, just waiting for the ‘green light’ to go get our gifts.

Let’s hope that the upcoming new year would unwrap with more pleasant surprises. May there be more joy, happiness, and peace.
